Research at Boscombe Down Aviation Collection

 

The Collection has a large archive of  aircraft publications and other aviation and Boscombe Down related documents.

 

We welcome researchers to Boscombe Down Aviation Collection: Whether you are a student, an author, broadcaster, or an interested enthusiast, we will try to support your research activity.

 

We hold records relating to flight and flight testing at Boscombe Down, and in the Wessex region, as well as a small RFC (Royal Flying Corps) archive.

 

We ask researchers to contact us at least a week in advance of their proposed visit, and to bring proof of ID when they visit. If we can’t directly help with your research, we might be able to suggest other resources to approach.

 

We do not yet have an online catalogue for researchers to access, so we suggest researchers contact us to find out whether we hold, or are likely to  hold the information you are looking for.

 

We don’t make a charge for students undertaking research activity (provided you bring along your current student ID), but there is a charge for other users.
